GLASGOW EMPIRE EXHIBITION 1938

Souvenir items from the Exhibition: a silver plated teaspoon; a side plate; a hankerchief. All of them feature The Tower of Empire which was 300ft high. Designed by Thomas S. Tait it could hold 200 people on the three balconies at the top.

CRYSTAL PALACE 1911 AND 1851

On the left is a souvenir pill box from the Crystal Palace at Sydenham where the 1911 Festival of Empire was held.


Medallion is from the Great Exhibition of 1851 which lists many statistics of the Crystal Palace.
